The Monache High School Marching Band has performed around the world, such as Edinburgh, Scotland, the Aloha Bowl, the Hollywood Christmas Parade, The Rose Parade, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Orange Bowl Parade, and The Fiesta Bowl. The band has won the title of Grand Champions at the Selma Marching Band Festival 27 times. In 2006, the group won the Centennial Band Review and was named Grand Champion of the Chick-Fil-A Bowl Band festival, winning three of the festival's four events: jazz band, field show and parade. They did not compete in the Concert Band competition.
Monache Band and Colorguard performs in many different events from Field shows in the fall to indoor percussion in the winter time. The shows we perform are a compilations of music dance and special effects. The Monache Band also performs as a concert band during the year and competes in the CMEA festivals and major concert venues
In 1997 Mr. Adams completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree, with an emphasis in Music Education from Point Loma Nazarene University. In 2005, Mr. Adams received a Masters of Arts degree in Instrumental Conducting from Southern Oregon University.
Having been a 1992 graduate of Monache High School Mr. Adams dream was to be able to take the baton of one of his mentor Mr. Dale Anderson. In 2001 Mr. Adams dream became a reality as he was named Director of Bands at Monache High School. While at Monache, Mr. Adams has maintained the tradition of excellence and musicianship that had been a staple of the Marauder Band.
Professional Memberships include Music Educators National Conference, California Music Educators Association, California Band Directors Association and Tulare Kings County Music Educators Association (President 2001-2003). Mr. Adams currently publishes the TKMEA Honor Band Program. Mr. Adams has also been selected to Who’s Who Amongst American Teachers in 1999.
